Now, that’s what I call an unusual colour combination (and choice of footwear). I always enjoy an editorial which surprises me and this one was definitely successful in doing this.

I love the idea of essentials. Things that really matter in your life. When browsing through oh so lovely obsessions I came across GQ’s series 10 essentials which I have almost forgotten about. Although lists like these  have a rather playful (and commercial) background, they do say quite a bit about their creators. Also it is fun to imagine my personal picks…

So pretty: the navy kimono coat by Haider Ackermann. The spring 2013 has so many beautiful pieces one can’t help but swoon over…
If you feel like online window shopping, I can highly recommend Département Féminin. It has such a wonderful selection of designer pieces. Thank you, Audrey for reminding me that a new visit was in order.

…summer. Wouldn’t a boat trip be fabulous? Seeing all kind of different places and spending a lot of time at sea seems so tempting right now. And if you are wondering who created this beautifully cut summer dress: Narciso Rodriguez.

It is not that big of surprise that the looks of the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris are exhaustively documented during fashion week. The looks in question, however, could almost be described as surprising since their are bare of any attention seeking elements like unexpected colour collisions or funny head pieces. Emmanuelle Alt’s styling ideas can be easily translated, a belt tied over a coat became an actual thing last season. Her wardrobe staples are pieces that you are already wearing on a daily basis or that you could imagine easily among your favourites. Like the Isabel Marant herringbone jacket and the Cartier Tank watch.

You just got spotted
We just saw an example of a perfect and effortless look for the ladies. Now, it just seems right to come up with something inspirational for the gents.
Something which applies in both cases: It is not only about the right ingredients, it s also about the right styling. Rolled-up sleeves or hem are probably the easiest way to introduce some „easiness“ into your wardrobe.

If you are spending a little bit of time on tumblr, you have probably come around this picture already. Maybe even several times. This doesn’t stop me from posting it, though, and I hope you don’t mind. I really love the simplicity of this look and I firmly believe that I am going to feel the exact same way next year (and the year after that).

It also reminds me that my search for the perfect blue shirt wasn’t successful yet. If you have came upon the perfect one, I would love to hear…

Two months ago I composed a little list of coveted coats. All of them could be filed under „classic“. None of them were anywhere near of a print and did certainly not include any embroidery. Trust Stella McCartney to bring up a change of heart.

Best of both worlds. Or so it seems. Remember this post? Now, if that is not the perfect materialisation of an innocent little blog post, I don’t know what is.

This week is going to be a short one which means that I will have to try hard not to get crazy over the amount of working waiting for me. But I will do my best and I hope you will do the same…

You will probably have recognized Phoebe Philo, Céline’s designer, in this picture  (it was taken at her London office) which I found on Roséline’s beautiful blog This is Glamorous.  If you need to take a break from everything, even if it is just for a minute or so, now you know where you should head for.
