Today was one of these perfect summery days. Nursing a cup of perfectly brewed coffee on the beach with the sand between my toes. Listening to my favourite tunes in the car with the windows down. Spending hours on a rooftop terrace and having friends over to share some cold drinks. So happy that summer is just about to start…

I love the idea of essentials. Things that really matter in your life. When browsing through oh so lovely obsessions I came across GQ’s series 10 essentials which I have almost forgotten about. A few days ago I placed a little book order. I was missing some gold old offline reading and the little pile on my bedside table didn’t really spark any interest. So I did a little bit of research and came across this little gem: The Diary Of A Nose by Jean-Claude Ellena. A behind the scenes peek  into the creative process of creating a fragrance in which the “parfumeur exclusif” of the house of Hermès chronicles his travels and experiments.

It is not that big of surprise that the looks of the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris are exhaustively documented during fashion week. The looks in question, however, could almost be described as surprising since their are bare of any attention seeking elements like unexpected colour collisions or funny head pieces. Emmanuelle Alt’s styling ideas can be easily translated, a belt tied over a coat became an actual thing last season.
