I am not sure why but I was never really tempted to try a short hair cut. Not even for an instant during the most difficult moments…you know the cliché. Woman in despair. Grabs for scissors. Decisive moment. The only time that I tried to cut a fringe was before I was able to write my name. I probably thought that my mum was taking away all the fun and that I could easily do it myself. Well I could not.
Although I am not searching for ideas how to get rid of my long mane, I do think that it can look incredibly pretty. Take Emily Weiss for example. Whether it is an undercut or simply the short bob, it suits her so well. Can’t help but admiring it from afar…

Probably one of the most recurrent subjects on this blog are pictures of the sea. So it is not really a surprise that I couldn’t stop myself from posting these pictures. All the more since they are strikingly beautiful. Now that summer is in full swing I see this as a perfect excuse on going overboard with lusciously turquoise material.

If the time to recuperate from last week is in any way an indication of its intensity, then let me just say that a lot of catching up on sleeping was done this weekend. I guess that preparing a tradeshow in a last-minute-kind-of-way will does that to you and the moment everything is over, the amount of relief and contentment hits you: somehow everything worked out fine. Even the little details, or at least some of them. I think that the part I enjoyed the most (beside the lovely dinners and parties) was to meet a lot of interesting people and also to learn a few things here and there. By now I am quite an expert when it comes to building materials which don’t damage historic buildings. Who would have thought that…

It is hard to believe that just a few days ago I walked my old and beloved paths in Paris. All of a sudden I found myself in the preparation of big event and everything that happened during these nine days seems very far away. My mind can be currently compared to a battle field where huge tasks encounter tiny details. One of these moments where it is probably wise to take a deep breath and just try to work things out…

The state of mind I was in last week has nothing to do with this picture. However, this is going to change from tomorrow on and I will hopefully spend a good amount of time sitting in the jardin du Luxumbourg doing pretty much nothing (except maybe being hooked on the roman I have just purchased). Yes, I am going to visit my much beloved Paris and yes, I am looking very much forward to every single second. The fact that I am able to see my friends  makes me over the moon happy, I really miss them a lot. But before I get all bleary eyed, let me say a quick „Au revoir!“  and let’s meet in a week, okay? And for those of you who want to see what I am up to, visit my Instagram feed and follow me along…

Currently on the hunt for a pair of black pumps. Simple things, classics really, are all about the right shape, the right cut, the right material.  Think simple white T. Or  jacket. Finding The One is not as easy as one might think, right?

When deciding upon the title for this post, several ideas popped into my mind. „Camel & White“ has been one of the most obvious ones. These colours are a match made in heaven — not big news really. Especially not since the camel coat had his big moment a few seasons ago (a quick plunge into the archives of the Sartorialist and you will know what I mean).
„Everything“ would be much more fitting then maybe? As in „Everything about this look speaks to me“. Or: „Everything in this look seems just about right“. There is much more to it than the usual approving nod toward the camel and white combo. Look at all these lovely shades in between: the dusty pink ballerinas and the cream coloured shirt. The perfect cut of every single item. And to top it of: the fringe. It almost makes me want to reach for the scissors on my table and…

Now, that’s what I call an unusual colour combination (and choice of footwear). I always enjoy an editorial which surprises me and this one was definitely successful in doing this.

It is hard to believe that May is coming to an end and that I am still obliged to grab my coat before rushing out of the house. It is even harder to believe that I have almost got sunburnt about two weeks ago. Now, on the bright side of things: all the rain makes it really easy to opt for some movie watching and good old fashioned reading.
Over the last few days I have caught up with the Ides of March (did not disapoint), revisited a few classics and paid an obligatory cinema visit in order to finally see The Great Gatsby (an overload of sugar running through the veins for about two hours). How was your weekend?

„It takes time in the morning for me to become George, time to adjust to what is expected of George and how he is to behave. By the time I have dressed and put the final layer of polish on the now slightly stiff but quite perfect George I know fully what part I’m suppose to play.“
